چکیده
This paper presents a scene analysis system, called MESSIE, in a 3D robotic context. It is a blackboard based multispecialist system. The basic architecture of MESSIE has been extended to meet the requirements of a vision reasoning system for a robotic platform and to generalize the application domain of our previous works 7, 4, 3, 5]. In the rst part, we present the system architecture and the models of objects , scene and sensors and the diierent interpretation and detection strategies. After, we present current experiments on indoor scene interpretation and an interpretation running example using constrained low-level feature extraction mechanism to improve low-level processing results.

3D Scene and Object Classification Based on Information Complexity of Depth Data
In this paper the problem of 3D scene and object classification from depth data is addressed. In contrast to high-dimensional feature-based representation, the depth data is described in a low dimensional space. In order to remedy the curse of dimensionality problem, the depth data is described by a sparse model over a learned dictionary. Exploiting the algorithmic information theory, a new def...
متن کاملDynamic 3-D Scene Analysis Through Synthesis Feedback Control
The analysis of 3D scenes consisting of nonrigid moving objects from 2D image sequences is discussed. A parametric description of dynamic objects is extracted and the time variant scene parameters are estimated throughout the sequence by employing an analysis by synthesis approach. From the parametric scene description images are synthesized and compared with the original input images of the ca...
متن کاملICARUS: Intelligent Content-Based Retrieval of 3D Scene
We present a tool for the analysis, classification and contentbased retrieval of 3D scene. The system ICARUS analyzes files in VRML format, searching for the presence of complex 3D-objects and relative geometrical relationships between them. Descriptions of the virtual scenes are classified in a Terminological System, and reasoning mechanisms are used for querying.
متن کاملUbiquitous and Wearable Vision Systems
Capturing multi-view images by a group of spatially distributed cameras is one of the most useful and practical methods to extend utilities and overcome limitations of a standard pinhole camera: limited size of visual field and degeneration of 3D information. This paper gives an overview of our research activities on multi-view image analysis. First we address a ubiquitous vision system, where ...
متن کاملWhat Can Casual Walkers Tell Us About The 3D Scene?
An approach for incremental learning of the 3D scene from a single static video camera is presented in this paper. In particular, we exploit the presence of casual people walking in the scene to infer relative depth, learn shadows, and segment the critical ground structure. Considering that this type of video data is so ubiquitous, this work provides an important step towards 3D scene analysis ...
